Never have I been more impressed with a game series and it’s community.

After 112 hours, I have beat the game as I've had so many other games to finish. I don't know why I sat on this game for so long and never finished it.

Highlighted points i truly enjoyed:

The bond between the main characters were strong and I truly felt connected to each and every one of them.
I was especially happy with how I was able to marry my childhood sweetheart. That was a nice touch.
I am an absolute sucker for turn-based RPGs so for Dragon Quest to keep that formula in their latest game and not stray away like Final Fantasy has done really drew me in.
I was actually happy and shocked when the bad guy won and you were forced to be in a corrupted world where you had to build up your strength again to win. Cue Act 3.
Speaking of Act 3, the plot twist with going back in time and Veronica sacrificing herself was truly moving. Legit cried like a baby both when she died as well as when she was brought back.
The entire forging system was actually awesome. Really liked all the altering outfits and the cool weapons, not to mention that even if you didn't have enough materials for a new weapon, you could increase its stats by using the pearls you get from successfully creating an item.
Always love the enemies, despite a lot of them being re-skins of ones earlier in the game. Some of them, despite being evil, are still adorable.
The graphics were gorgeous especially during the CGI cutscenes. Dragon Quest has come a LONG way since the last major console game.
Really enjoyed the music and overall world aesthetics. Dungeons were fun, liked riding the monsters everywhere even to grab chests or sparkly spots.
Mini-games like the crossbow bullseye hunt or even the horse race was fun.

Overall, a true 10 out of 10 game. Loved it from start to finish. I will be picking up the Switch version and playing it over again with the extra content.

I can't say I've played for very long, only a few years, but every Dragon Quest game I've played is well made, true to what it sets out to be and makes improvements without losing its identity. The worlds and characters are top notch and I have nothing bad I can say about it.

But what's most impressive is all you guys and everyone that plays it. You all appreciate the games for what they are, and unlike other communities I've seen you never demand radical change or complain. The Pokemon community for example complains all the time, asking them to shake things up and then complains when they try something new.

Keep on keeping on, and we will have great JRPGs for a long time.

Took my love of this series to a whole new level by creating a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. It takes the world maps of Dragon Quest 8, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker, and Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2 and mashes them together fusing the game lore with that of Dungeons and Dragons to create my own original story. The events of each map's game are generally canon though I've recontextualized them to serve an original narrative. One of my players has the ghost of Captain Crow following her around and helping her, another is a Monster Scout (with slightly different rules), and another is carrying the Sceptre of Trodain. It's kind of a mess as it's my first go as a DM but I love playing it so much!

The Google Docs spreadsheet for the PS4/PC version is invaluable for completionists, but it hasn't been updated (and probably won't be) with all the new stuff in the Switch version. Does anyone have a link to a spreadsheet/walkthrough that covers everything else? Gamefaqs isn't any help either.

So, with a lot of us hoping for a DQ9 remake, what are some things you guys want the most out of it?

My hope would be more classes, maybe monster catching, and free (or paid for) DLC to increase the players longevity. Some content from X and XI as well.

Sorry I'm quite new to this subreddit but I've beaten the game and have reached act 3. I'm about to shatter the time sphere however I'm hesitating because I've not done a lot of the side content (Mainly quests and side activities) would I be able to come back to these later or after going back will it be gated off.

Also if anyone has any content they would recommend doing now I'd highly appreciate it

(GBC) Dragon Warrior I & II Interesting Gameshark / Gamegenie codes

Using some codes I made for DW I & II, I found a few neat things in the GBC version.

Apparenty DW 2 items will work in 1.

The bolt staff and lightning spell will work when used. I found a way for explodet to be used as well.

Also I found an unused item called the "SaveOrb" which brings up the kings prompt to save, anywhere in the world in the journal.

I plan to post a vid soon :] and continue to look for more

Just finished DQ11

So I just finished DQ11 (credits literally rolling as i type this).

I can see why this franchise has a such a loyal fanbase, cause it just earned a new fan.

I have to admit though, I finished it in roughly 60h, thought this game would last around 130h like Persona did for me lol.

EDIT: I never learned what was that tiny blue ghost creature though

EDIT 2: Well... see you guys in another 60h with the real "I just finished DQ11" lol
