    Started playing DQ 7 in 2016 and was blown away. This is my collection so far + DQ 1, 2, 3, Builders 1 and Builders 2. So excited for this series!

    Outfit aspect doesn't change

    HELP!!! I equipped the trodain stuff as the hero but nothing has really changed in the outfit and I can't understand why. It also says "not modifiable now" but I have this message since the beginning of the game and I'm starting to think there's something wrong in the game itself. Could this be related to the fact that I downloaded the dlc during the demo and not when I buyed the final game? Thanks

    Is the DQXI switch console the V2 model?

    My experience with the Post-game Snærfelt boss and how I finally beat him

    My first encounter with the boss I struggled to keep my HP high and it kept spamming Kasizzle, Dark Breath attack, physical attacks, and nullifying my turns which eventually clobbered my second team giving me second and third "The party was wiped out".

    Being extremely frustrated and grinding for hours hoping for better results, I finally came up with a strategy of how to beat him. Most of my help came from watching other people and researching.

    By the way, Serena at the time was in Slot 3 and Jade Slot 4. Rab eventually took Serena's place because she was struggling to keep her health up and that's why he's in the image below.

    Builds:

    There are other forageable accessories that help against status penalties.

    What Really saved my frustration

    • Yggdragon's Blessing - Helped mitigate physical and breath attacks and manage the first team.
    • Omniheal - Needed to unlock Yggdragon's Blessing and keeps allies' HP high when in danger.
    • Lightning Thrust - I thank RNGesus for consistently lashing out critical hits. Unfourtunately Multithrust didn't help at all because I can't trust it to not deal enough damage (due to increased bonuses from enemy pep ups) and not see a critical hit.
    • Sword Dance - Good for damage output in multi-hitting swings. I didn't find Unbridled Blade efficient enough... and certainly got nowhere with Quadraslash.
    • That certain Pep ability which restores HP and MP a bit each turn. Can't remember the name.

    I made it through without any casualties... thankfully. This method also helped with the post game boss in "The Battle Ground" location finishing it off with Magic Burst (grinded for the Pep Up status effect). Hope this helps and thanks for taking the time to read this.

    Would DQ10 succeed in the west as a switch exclusive?

    Like the title says.. I've really come to believe this game would succeed. The switch doesn't have any mmorpgs as far as I'm aware. Dropping the game and all of its expansions.. that would be a boatload of content and for 60 bucks in a quiet month... that could do well.

    I know the switch is considered more of a portable console but i spend a lot of time playing mine at home as do a lot of people. I know this series hasn't blown up as much as it should but I think this might actually be a massive hit.

    The idea of never playing a mainline entry in the series sucks anyways so hopefully they finally port it over and not the offline version that was rumored! a full online version :).

    Zing Fail Rate

    I know zing is a 50% chance, and so I'm just getting unlucky, but I just need to rant haha. I'm consistently having to cast it 7-8 times for it to work. I think my record on this current playthrough is 13 fails in a row. Enough to drain serena mp, while rab is a guest also failing. Anyone else seem to have super bad luck with zing?

    Fourth Trial Help

    Am I supposed to be able to finish these trials yet? I was going through the first three pretty easily, but the fourth one is so much harder. I haven't gotten past the slime one. Most of the time 1-2 of my team members get out to sleep and then I die the next turn cycle. The best thing I've figured out so far is spamming gigagash and pearly gates while Serena tries her best to keep everyone alive. The slimed can easily kill someone in 3-4 hits though. The best I've done is taking out 4 slimes when the sleep slime kept putting his team to sleep.

    A should I just come back later? I really don't think I can do all four waves at this point.

    So Dragon Quest Monsters...

    Has there been any update on the new title being developed for the Switch? And whether it will be localised in the West? I was absolutely obsessed with DQMJ2 (I brought 2 copies so I could get every monster completed about 6 run throughs on my second cartridge) but have recently lost both my cards, I was hoping there would be any near me but all the available copies of the game are over seas, I then heard from a friend that they were developing a title for the Switch that was going to be seperate from the Joker series and I was so down but I can't find any more information, I was wondering if anyone here knew anything.

    Switch + Dragon quest worth It?

    I used to play Dragon Quest 8 and 9 and DQMJ2 years ago. Started replaying 9 bc of nostalgia today. Was thinking bout buying a switch and DQ games. Thing is, that would be like 350-400 Euros and i dont have much money. Also im spending most of my free time on my Xbox. Would you guys still say that its worth it?
