Just beat IV, what an incredible game. Posted: 19 Mar 2020 06:05 AM PDT Especially considering the time and system. My only complaint is I really didn't like how you couldn't control your other party members in Chapter 5, but I know they changed that for later versions. But I loved the way the narrative unfolded in chapters, I really liked how they told the Hero's narrative too. The final boss fight and ending were also great. If V was all about family, then this one was all about friendship and I really dug that, reminded me a little of FF4 and FF6. So I've beaten V, III, I and now IV, should I try II or VI next? Posted: 19 Mar 2020 08:49 AM PDT So, I went in to fight the big Grumpy Gus that is the Lord Of Shadows (God, that sounds like someone's gamertag from early-2000's), beat him. Then he became a skeleton-dragon version of Cat-Dog and stomped me. My party is all over lvl50, but we still got turned into jam. Should I go back to grind Metal King Slimes? [link] [comments]
I just finished Dragon Quest XI, what an amazing game! Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:48 PM PDT I just completed the game to it's full extent. Easily one of my favorite games of all time, for anyone even thinking about trying the game, PLEASE install the demo on switch and do so! The emotions, excitement, everything about this game is what I wish I experienced more often with games lately. Now what entry to play next.......? [link] [comments]
[DQ11] Recommened level for this boss? Posted: 19 Mar 2020 07:05 AM PDT SPOILERS Avarith, I only have Hero and Eight, and uncontrollable Sylv, but I managed to defeat her first time round, i'm 33-36, was this the first boss I was supposed to do? I read it isn't but found it fairly easy. and I am on stronger monsters. am i over leveled? i don't want to be! lol [link] [comments]
Any way to replay DQIX without getting rid of the previous save? Posted: 19 Mar 2020 04:07 AM PDT One of the few things I dislike about DQIX is that there's only the one save file. Recently I've been wanting to play it from the beginning again but I've still got my old save from about 10 years ago when I last played the game, with quite a few legacy and grotto bosses that I haven't finished and I'm reluctant to wipe it. Is there any way around this or do I just have to get another copy of the game/another ds lite? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:27 PM PDT So here's the dealio. I feel like replaying 7 and then 8 in the near future. I actually own both versions of 7 and used to own the PS2 version of 8 til it broke, then I got the 3DS version. I know all about the changes made to graphics/abilities/additional stuff/etc. to both games. My question however is: did they make any significant changes to stats/mechanics to either games in the transition to the 3DS versions? Because I'm wondering if they made the 3DS versions much easier then their original and thus, not as much fun in terms of difficulty. In experts/more well-knowledgeable opinions: Are the 3DS versions easier and/or would you actually recommend the PS1/2 versions of the games instead? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:02 PM PDT When I first saw the trailer of the switch version of Dragon Quest XI, I wasn't impressed at all. I remembered that I was really pissed off to see "another bland jrpg" on the Switch. Then I decided to try the demo when it was released and my God I was blown away. After two hours I decided to preorder the game, and I'm not kidding when I say that it has become of my favourite games of all time. It has been an incredible adventure from the beginning until the end. The music is marvellous, the characters, especially the party members are incredible (I think I've fallen in love with Serena honestly). I'm super super excited to see what the endgame is about. Hopefully it will be as awesome as the rest of the game [link] [comments]
Using the Mirror of Ra on the King (DQ3) Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:08 PM PDT No matter where I stand behind or around the king, the Mirror of Ra doesn't do anything. I know I need to use it to turn him into a troll but whenever I get in front he immediately sends me back to jail. Does anyone have some advice? [link] [comments]
I lost my DQ XI S save data, what should I do? Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:29 PM PDT Long story short, I was halfway through act 2 but I had some problems with my SD Card and I now lost all my save files, I never used Cloud Share or whatever because I don't care about Online Play, the only thing that makes me sad it's DQXI, this game la the one where I was REALLY into it. I only played this game and a little bit of DQ IX on DS. I wanted to finish XI and play the rest of them someday on my 3DS. What do you guys think I should do now? Should I just start XI again? Or should I play something else? What do you guys recommend? I feel like it would be a chore to get through everything again, I like the game but it's a lot of hours of doing things that I recently did, but I also would like to continue, I am in college right now and I do not have the time that I had when I was playing it on my vacations, I know that previous entries are shorter so that is better in these times for me. Should I play other things and start it over later feeling less recent in my memories or should I just restart it right now? I want to play some other things too like Animal Crossing. Losing all those items and quests that I did still makes me somewhat sad, it also happened with Xenoblade X on my Wii U, some comfort words would be nice. I am somewhat lost on what to do about it, maybe it's somewhat silly, but it's sad nonetheless. Thank you everyone. [link] [comments]
which games should i play now and what can i play them on? Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:27 PM PDT super bored stuck in my house rn, so i felt like playing another dragon quest game or two. i've played dq11 and just bought dq3. [link] [comments]
What's the General Opinion on the DQM Joker Games? Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:52 PM PDT My introduction to Dragon Quest was with Joker back when it first released in North America. I remember absolutely loving every minute of both it and Joker 2, but I haven't actually played either since their release. As such, I dont remember if the games were actually good, or if I'm looking back on the games with rose-tinted glasses. What does everyone think of the Joker series? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Mar 2020 05:33 AM PDT Admittedly I am not very far into the game yet (just got the twins into the party), but so far it has been an absolute slog and I cannot for the life of me see what makes this game so well loved and highly praised. I'm going to list some of my complaints, and I challenge anyone to tell me how I'm wrong or what I am missing.
Each of those points are not huge deals by themselves (except the music - that's just unforgivable), but they add up to a greater whole and I just dont understand the praise for this game. I really want to like it bc I spent $60+ on it, plus the game selection on Switch is quite small and there aren't very many other games that interest me, but I'm just not getting it so far. Again, I WANT TO LIKE THIS GAME. I know I'm going to get destroyed by DQ fan boys, but I am not trolling by any means. I genuinely want to understand why it gets so much praise aside from the graphics and its "charm." [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:52 PM PDT Given how reclassing is the biggest mechanic in DQ 3, how did you build your party and why? In my current game (nes version) I have a Soldier, priest, and goof off, and am planning of going sage with the goof off as soon as I can. Then at lv 30-35 reclassing the Soldier to a Martial artist and priest to sage, but debating making the Soldier a sage to make the sage more physically adept. [link] [comments]

Does anyone else really just wanna play DQV? Posted: 18 Mar 2020 06:51 PM PDT I do. SO much. But getting it is the problem. It's like $170 Australian for me to get a DS copy, and I don't want the first time to be on iPhone. I really wish the game was more available. Is there anyway to play it without emulating that will give me a good, magical DQV experience or am I fucked? [link] [comments] |
