    Was fortunate enough to be in Tokyo at the end of last year when they was doing the DQ XI promotion at the Square Enix Café in Akihabara. It was awesome!

    Full menu and prices from the DQXI promotion in the Square café at the end of last year in Tokyo. Every drink got you a random DQXI character coaster and every main would get you a random placemat. Last pic is the placemats I got! I had the Veronica pancakes. What would you order? ��

    Dragon Quest 4 Android Cloud Sync Black Screen

    Hi,

    I have the problem when I press on the cloud sync button in Dragon Quest 4 on Android Google asks me with which account I want to login. I choose the only available, mine, and I get a black screen with a loading circle in the upper left corner. And then nothing happens, I tried to wait for like 30 minutes.

    I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus.

    Anyone an idea what I can try?

    Ways to play Dragon Quest 1 ,2 & 3

    Many years ago I played DQ 1 on the NES, the series in north America was called Dragon Warrior. However since then I have played all of the mainline Dragon Quest games except for 2 and 3.

    I was wondering if their was a way other than Switch or Phones to play the original trilogy again, remastered. I have a 3DS and and PS4, but I don't think the remastered collection is on those platforms at least not in north America.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

    Question about death/dying

    Just started DQ V on the DS (US version) for the first time after playing through I-IV. Because I don't have a Switch and couldn't find IV on the DS (yet), I've played I-IV on the Phone (Android).

    Now after 4 games I'm used to dragging coffins behind me when a party member falls in battle and having to revive them either at the church or later with Zing/Kazing.

    Now I'm wondering: I just beat Dwight and the Winter Goddess to get back the flute for the faeries in V. During the battle, my sabrecub was killed. However, after the battle, it was alive again with 1 HP. I also noticed it saying "DEFEATED" during battle instead of the usual "DEAD". Kinda unusual.

    My question: Is it normal that party members don't die anymore in V? Couldn't find anything about a change made with V to the usual system of death and resurrection.

    Worst DQ Protagonist

    Who do you think is the worst Dragon Quest protagonist? I know most of the games enable you to name them what you want, but for this question, I mean worst can be for various reasons, like story, decisions, ect. (Also, I'm somewhat new to the DQ franchise/fandom, so if this is a crappy question, the fault is mine.)

    Glitch in Dragon Quest VIII (3DS version) preventing me from using more stat seeds. Can anyone help?

    Firstly, I am playing the Japanese version of this game which I imported, and playing it on a Japanese 3DS (no cfw or any kind of patches used).

    Okay so long story short, I've actually been looting the blue chests (chests that are on the world map in only the 3DS version, can be opened once a day, several give a chance of getting stat seeds) in Dragon Quest VIII every single day for several years now, as a slow way to eventually stat max all of my characters. I've gotten several hundreds of seeds, and actually managed to completely max out one character so far (meaning this character has 999 in every stat), however, I ran into a weird issue, where it's no longer letting me use intelligence seeds on Jessica, telling me that it's not necessary. She has 577 int and 732 MP, and I have no idea why this is occurring. Since I'm playing the game in Japanese btw, the message read is

    "ゼシカは かしこさのたねを 使おうとした。 しかし 今のゼシカには 必要なさそうだ。"

    Interestingly enough though, when I use the seed on of my characters who has 999 INT already, it will actually consume the seed and say their intelligence stat has raised by 0 points. Yet, on a different character who has 999 INT, it gives me the same message it gives to Jessica, where the seed won't be used. The first character with 999 INT only had 470 MP though, and I'm wondering if maybe if maximum MP is a factor as to whether or not an INT seed will work with the values this high.

    Do any of you have any idea how to fix this issue, or what's going on exactly?

    I am blown away by how wonderful the characters are in this game, that much is certain... but I'm even more impressed by the depths they bring each of our lovely characters to and the nuance certain issues are tackled with.

    Sylvando was a hard-won but certain lock for favorite, especially after I played his intermission content after Act I came to an end. But then...

    ... in rode Hendrik. I adore that man. I think much has to do with the fact that he sort of reminds me of Ned Stark*, another fantasy character I adore. I enjoy that strong code of ethics, his impeccable honor, and his willingness to admit when he was wrong and do what he is able to do to rectify those wrongs. I love a great redemption arc and how awesome was it to team up with such compelling ex-opponent? Wow.

    I haven't been able to take either out of my party, let me tell you. The thought seems unfathomable. I just treasure those two so dearly.

    (*Interestingly enough, Jasper kind of reminds me of Jaime Lannister... but unlike with Hendrik, I have actually called him "Jaime" before. Whoops...)
