    So, I just finished playing 3 and I noticed that without the help of a guide, I would have been totally lost. I mean hell, some items didn't even have any instructions on how to find or obtain them. Like the first zelda game, I felt like a guide was a must have for III

    So my question is..is IV the same ? Does it need the assistance of a guide in order to complete the game ?

    I recently bought IV, V and VI and I'm excited to play, just curious to how mentally exhausting it's going to be lol

    Dragon Quest 3 is not only a solid Dragon Quest game...but also an extremely solid RPG. It's very easy to get into, the story is simple, the grinding isn't terrible...the game as I have mentioned before is solid. The one thing I will talk about though is the party system. I love that you get to create your own classes to support you on your journey along with how they grow as well. Dragon Quest 3 may not have Party Chat of the game but it's not a weakness because YOU get to decide who these characters are.

    Lily is a very headstrong, selfish, temperamental, and an eager merchant who wants nothing but to support her mother who is sick. She goes on an adventure with my hero and improves her fighting skills she learns the value of courage and duty and she decides to become a warrior. Serenica the Cleric (Yes I made DQ11 nods) is the childhood friend of my hero. She is brave, independent, and an idealist. She is the motherly figure of the group and acts as the moral compass. She is also insecure and a bit weak at times, she overcomes her insecurities and becomes a sage. Majima is a sketchy thief who wants all glory. His reasons for going are the least noble and most selfish. He is a bit a perv and gets constantly bashed(literally) by Lily for it. He has street smarts, and has a knack for treasures. Majima learns there is more to life than just wealth. He gains a new sense of honor and forms a close friendship with the group. He then becomes a fighter.

    This stuff I shared would not be possible if these were decided characters for me. With this freedom I'm hand the game gives you a complete imagination on who your characters are and where they come from and who they will become. For an RPG that came out in the late 80s this is still groundbreaking. It's more than just deciding what the character's classes are. It's because of that freedom you get invested into everyone because you created them. When your Hero beats the game, they beat the game as well along with him. The accomplishments they all make are yours. Dragon Quest 3 is a great game but I feel like when discussing the Party system this kind of imagination does not get shared enough. I think it's a shame and I wanted to shed light on that aspect of it. I hope you guys take that away from this post

    Out of curiosity is there any ongoing projects for the second Dragon Quest Monsters 3ds? Or maybe the young yangus game? Other than that I'm curious if all the monster games are worth playing or if some stand taller than the rest. I've currently got Terry's Wonderland and Joker 3 on 3ds but haven't invested any time into them.

    What would you think of a 3d remake of Dragon Quest V?

    I feel like DQ5 would work well in the same style as 11, it would improve the impact of the story as you would be able to see facial expressions, better visuals, and there would also be voice acting. Certain areas could also be remade in much more detail, and more content and more of a post game could be added, which is something the previous versions have lacked. Removing the overworld wouldn't be a huge issue in my opinion as it isn't a big part of the game, unlike DQ4 or something. What do you think?

    Dragon Quest XI - Gollipolitan Garb - Missable?

    So I didn't know I had to get the outfit via horse race until the third act/post game, but the horse races give different prizes in post game. Anyone know if there is another way to get this outfit?

    Heard DQ7 was one of the easier titles but I feel like I’m having a hard time, is it just me?

    My second DQ game after 11, which has become one of my favorite games of all time, so I dove into DQ7. I also have 1-6 and 9 but chose to start with 7. I've just gotten to the first island after getting my boat, I have very few abilities and only level 5 and find myself getting killed a lot. Do I need to grind a little more, does the game get easier once I mature a bit, or be honest am I just bad? Thanks in advance!

    Is there a way to compare shop items at +3 with current items at +3?

    If I currently have an item that's at +3, it will show most shop items as a downgrade. However, it's likely the shop items would be an upgrade if they were also at +3. Maybe I'm dumb, but I haven't found a way to compare current/hypothetical item stats when they're both at +3 within the shop menu. Instead, I have to exit the shop menu, look up my equipment stats for every character and item slot, then check each item in the shop. It's a bit of a hassle. . .

    I was thinking about starting this game over again but I want to try to Complete it. (or as much as i can becuse of Side quest i may miss) But i do want to at lease try to get all the classes. so do i need to anything pacific like have I need a mage to get the ranger class? All i know is that i need to do a quest to get them.

    So I've just started playing the translated version of DQMJ3, so far I'm absolutely loving it. I'm just curious what the post game looks like? Since most the videos I watch on the game are Japanese, I can never tell whether their on post game or maybe a new game plus. The reason I ask is because on the Japanese YouTubers I watch is STILL uploading DQMJ3 content (not PvP) and it's like he has an endless supply of Gameplay and Story. Anyone able to give me some more info?

    What should a Remake Collection of DQ I to VI be like

    While playing 11 S, I was thinking on how Square Enix could do a Remake Collection of DQ I to VI. Now, they should obviously have nice extras like box art and dev videos and it should obviously use each games' symphonic soundtrack.

    But, what I can't decide on is how to remake the games. I've run it down to 4 options. They could either:

    A. Do a 3D model top down remake, similar to DQ V on PS2 and DQ VII on 3DS

    B. Do a HD-2D remake, similar to Octopath Traveler

    C. Do a full on 3D remake, similar to DQ VIII and DQ XI

    Or

    D. All 3 and let the player choose how they want to play.

    You guys' thoughts on this?
