    FINALLY

Octagonia Battles on Full Draconian are pretty rough compared to everything else. Bit more RNG than usual.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 02:21 AM PST

Probably my least favourite series of Full Draconian fights so far. There's a lot left up to luck, except for Underdigger and Abominable Showman, they're really weak.

In my experience, at level 22, the ideal strategy is to actually take a more offensive approach with most of these fights. Vince is a very reliable healer and can keep pace with 1 enemy's damage, and the faster a fight is won, the less RNG can screw you. Greatsword Guard is bait. It's too unreliable, and the loss of an offensive turn can make it difficult to make the mages start spending turns healing. Set up wise you just want the platinum powersword and some respec manipulation to have the strength+25 panel without the crit chance that's irrelevant to cutting edge. Trusting Vince is critical.

    Sinderella & Whambelina

    • Focus Sinderella super hard with Cutting Edge. If they target you, Vince can take a healing role, but the damage you're dealing will very likely put Sinderella in to a healing position as well. You can out-damage her heals and more or less take her offense off the table as she tries to heal. Whambelina is just as scary, but she isn't an ideal first target due to her shield potential.

    Sterling Sylva & Golden Boy

    • Probably the worst fight here. It's harder to be offensive, but you still have to try, but don't get too greedy, you should definitely heal at lower HP here. Golden Boy is the ideal target, but it can be an option to target Sterling Sylva if Vince does because Sylva is the real damage threat, however it's extremely risky due to his attack and defense buff making him go down slower, if he uses it.

    Rab & Jade

    • Scarier on paper than it is. Early in the fight they alternate turns assessing the situation, which means that it's very difficult for them to do enough damage to outpace Vince on heal duty. By taking an offensive approach on Rab, you'll get him on to defensive heal duty just like Sinderella. While Jade is the real threat, she has a decent evasion rate and higher HP than Rab.

The key to all of the fights is just reading the situation and a bit of luck. There's no real way around the luck required here, but it's not that bad. Everything I've said is demonstrated in my consecutive run through all 3 fights

What platforms allow you to play DQ XI with that 16-bit style and different soundtrack styles?

If I recall correctly, the Switch version has the definitive edition that has these features. Has this been made available for PS4 or PC?

Dq5 how do I catch monsters?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:52 AM PST

I'm level 16 at Abovital Tower with Harry. Am I able to catch monsters yet? If not I'm having a hard time. I've never seen an option to recruit anyone yet.

Was so excited to find DQM Joker 2! Especially given the online prices for this game... Now my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. There’s something special with these two idk what it is but i feel like realistically they’d end up together IF Luminary canonically chooses Gemma or Jade.

Would someone with a short attention span and a preference for fast paced games enjoy dragon quest xi?

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 11:11 PM PST

I was looking through my wishlist trying to figure out what the next game I should check off of it and dragon quest xi stood out to me. I did buy dragon quest builders 2 a couple weeks ago and played dragon quest builders 1 a year ago or so and I really liked both though I haven't beat the second yet. I was just about to tap purchase but then I read it was turn based and I thought maybe I should play the demo first. I've always had a bias against turn based games ever since I played and disliked final fantasy as a kid. I think a lot of the reason I disliked it was because unless you keep a white magician with you you gotta buy and carry a bunch of potions with you. I'm not a picky gamer though and while I have my preferences I won't shy away from playing games that deviate from my preferences. I liked octopath traveler and fire emblem three houses if I liked these games I'd probably like dragon quest right?

    Artful Dodge

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 11:15 AM PST

Spent the entire day today at the first casino having terrible luck in my full draconian run. Many hours later, I end up sitting on like 50 silver spins and won the jackpot twice in it.

    Posted: 12 Mar 2021 07:08 PM PST

Sitting pretty. Laughed immensely. I wasn't sure something like that was possible, but it feels good to have all the tokens in the world (for now) to stock up on weapons and yggdrasil leaves.

Couldn't win for most of the day then at the end I just couldn't lose and get out of those silver spins to move on. Put me in a great mood lol - was just sitting there mashing while watching Always Sunny
