Posted: 01 Mar 2021 08:36 AM PST I feel like online I've seen a lot of people who dislike this game for brutal difficulty and just being really grindy and not fun, but honestly I'm not seeing any of that. (I am playjng the Switch version so maybe that's why but I don't know) I liked the first game way more than I expected, but II feels like an improvement in every way. I think the battles are greatly improved and much more complex, the world is a lot bigger and I love being able to go to Alefgard from the first game as a piece of the new larger map, even having DQI music playing there. I think the game is structured much better and doesn't have the questionable choice of having to pay for magic keys individually. Also, the music is SO much better. The overworld themes, battle theme, and town theme are awesome. While the final area is much more difficult than the rest, I found that the only time in the entire game I had to grind for more than 5 minutes or so was for the final boss. Plus, having a zoom point directly in the final area was really nice, which I honestly did not expect after DQI forced you to walk through literally the entire world to go anywhere. My biggest issue was definitely the random battle rate, though. I had times where it literally took ONE TILE of movement to run into a battle, which is just ridiculous. However, I did find that it makes it much easier to grind when necessary compared to DQI which took forever (although idk I found grinding in DQI kimd of relaxing somehow). The issue is once again not too bad because of the number of places you can zoom to. Also, the ship didn't have nearly as high a random battle rate which I appreciated. I know this game is basically just one long string of fetch quests, but I had a lot of fun with it and I don't think it deserves to be disliked as much as it seems like it is to me. I would recommend this game to anyone who already likes DQ, but not as an introduction to the series. Again, this may just be the Switch version's changes, I'm not well versed on exactly what it changed, but this is how I feel about the game. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]

Dragon Quest VIII 3ds old save with new console Posted: 01 Mar 2021 04:02 AM PST Hi :) Guys, i would love to know if the DQVIII for 3ds saves to cartridge or SD-card? Do you know how it works please? I know that most 3DS games save to cartridge so you can use that cartridge on a variety of consoles, but im unsure about VIII as i have seen conflicting information on the web. Thank you very much :-) [link] [comments]
Are the 3ds versions of dragon quest 7 and 8 good? Posted: 28 Feb 2021 12:44 PM PST Are they good versions of the games or are the originals better? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Feb 2021 10:21 PM PST ok so basically idk if this is me being stupid or not but ive been emulating dragon quest vii on ps1 and uh i'm stuck at the beggining where you have to put a pearl orb on a statue at the ruins and like, youre supposed to get a note from the mfing prince which tells you to meet him at the castle, though the game just tells you nothing happened and doesnt say anything about the note. trust me i watched a walkthrough and i swear i didnt miss anything. Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:26 PM PST Has this been removed in the definitive edition? I ask because I tried to set it up yet when I went into act 2 none of my other characters gear or inventory transferred to my bags I put all my seeds and other stuff (cards) I wanted to dupe in the inventories of the characters accept the hero, saved, then talked to the guy in Arboria at the end of act 1 where's it supposed to take a snapshot. I know I can't get the doubled items until act 3, but I thought those items automatically went back into the bag at the start of act 2. I've never played the extra content before act 2 starts but I didn't touch any inventories during that. [link] [comments]
Quick question about Swapping between chapters and #8's gear Posted: 28 Feb 2021 09:24 PM PST So, I'm paranoid AF because I've lost gear and other important items in other games over the years. I'm in Post-Game now and want to reset back to chapter 1. I want to assume that I can just leave #8 equipped with all their gear and they will still have it once they rejoin my party, but, again, I'm paranoid. I figure it is better to be safe rather than sorry so I'm double checking here since I haven't found an explicit answer to this question. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Feb 2021 04:32 PM PST Everywhere you go there is only death in return... Would love more actual games (DQ?) with interesting moral such as life, death and god like DQIX did. [link] [comments] |
