    So I was playing a bit of my DQ3 for switch last night and I really don't like how it doesn't tell you which is more recent: The quicksave or the "venturing forth" / i.e. regular save.

    So it's entirely possible you could load up an older save and lose a bunch of progress if you choose the wrong one.

    I hope this is addressed in the remake- Even if it's something like showing the play time or something.

    I'm very saddened that Square Enix keeps discontinuing spin-off DQ games. DQR was pretty much the only card style game I would play and I was disappointed that not only are the servers shut down, but there's no offline mode I can play against AI. Pretty much means I'll never experience that game ever again.

    Hi everyone! I have a bit of a mystery on my hands and wanted to reach out to some more knowledgeable people to see if maybe they can help me.

    I found this box set of 10 Dragon Quest video CDs and I've been struggling to find any clear information about it. I've scoured the internet for a few days and I can't seem to find an answer as to what it is. I'm assuming it's an animated series, and it has copyrights for 2001 on the CD. Google translate on my camera isn't giving me a proper translation unfortunately. I tried finding info on "Angel Animation International" but I didn't have much luck there either. I've linked an imgur with pictures of the cover art and CDs.

    If you rest up at the inn, you'll find that your recovery gets undone when you leave the illusion. A cool technical detail that surprised me when I was playing the NES version.

    Where to find/play past Dragon Quest games?

    So I've played VIII a few years ago and loved it. I played XI last year and loved it. It's super cool they added the Hero to Smash, and I'm super excited for XII, whenever that comes out. Needless to say, I'm a newish but firmly cemented DQ fan.

    Where can I play the rest of the series? I have a PS2, Switch, and am willing to drop money on a used DS to play the remakes if need be. Is it possible to play all the other entries in America?

    I'd prefer to avoid the mobile versions if possible. I understand the I-III releases on Switch are just updated mobile versions, but I just don't like playing full games like that on a cell phone.

    I'd even take emulator links as well.

    Sword of Light

    After beating Calasmos on my second try, I now learn you can actually use the Sword of Light on him to dispel the fog and make him much less of a threat! Did anyone else defeat him without knowing this? Are there any other bosses/super bosses this works on?
